Welcome to Thames Valley Science Park – a lively community of ambitious, knowledge-based companies just off the M4 corridor at Reading, close to Heathrow and London. Here you'll find cutting edge laboratories together with modern, flexible office space within a relaxed, campus style environment. Larger companies wanting to develop bespoke R&D or office buildings will find both the opportunity and expertise to make that happen.
What makes being here different? We take a close personal interest in your business and tailor the right space, terms and support services to flex around your evolving needs. Our close links with the University of Reading gives your business access to world-class talent and expertise in the heart of the Thames Valley — Europe's strongest knowledge economy with a digital cluster that ranks highest in employee productivity.
Our ambition is to create a science park with international appeal that builds on the established cluster of high-growth-potential companies already here. Our new site offers cutting edge laboratory and office space in a campus-style environment. A supportive, flexible approach, specialist facilities and the dynamic mix of companies already here make this an exciting place for ambitious companies to grow.
Over 80,000 sq ft of offices and laboratories are occupied by innovation-led SMEs who, together with the Mondelez global R&D centre, make up the diverse community at Whiteknights. The exciting new 47-acre Shinfield campus launches with the Gateway Building, 70,000 sq ft of quality offices and laboratories, scheduled to open in autumn 2017. The scale of both the site and our ambition provides a real opportunity for growth as well as scope to design and specify bespoke specialist facilities.
Less than 30 minutes to Heathrow, and with fast road and rail connectivity to London, Thames Valley Science Park sits at the heart of Europe’s largest cluster of high-tech businesses. It is also one of the world's most vibrant knowledge economies with close proximity to internationally renowned centres of research excellence. This puts a highly productive and talented pool of people, who enjoy the lifestyle and beauty of the surrounding Thames Valley, on your doorstep.
The lively campus-style environment is designed for people to meet and collaborate. Interaction spaces, cafés, conference facilities and flexible meeting spaces help this to happen. High quality services such as state-of-the-art IT ensure your business operates smoothly. Both sites are close to local shops, restaurants and other amenities and you can tap into facilities at the University such as lecture theatres, sports facilities and the University library which is due to have a £40m refurbishment.
The Science Park is already home to over 70 companies covering a broad range of technologies and business sectors. They value our flexible approach, the environment and relationships with each other. They recognise the strengths and opportunities of being linked to a world-class university and being able to recruit talent and explore new ideas with our researchers. The new facilities planned will create even more opportunities for new relationships and interactions as our community grows.
Thames Valley Science Park operates across two locations. Our Science & Technology Centre and Reading Enterprise Centre are on the Whiteknights campus in the heart of Reading and our new Shinfield campus is around two miles away and adjacent to the M4 just south of Reading. For visitors, please refer to the How to Find Us section in the menu for directions to each of our campuses.
